         Teaching children's English is more boring tnan young childrens.  Luckily, there are some interesting themes in Step up text book. You can find such food units as Healthy habits, The wrong bag of food, The Food Festival,Cooking is fun.......ect.
         
               Make a Sandwich


Kitchen Rules

1. Before you start, wash your hands.
2. Get out everything you will need for a recipe befor you start.
3. Clear up as you work.  Wipe up any spills straight away.
4. When you have finished, remember to wash up.

To make a sandwich, you will need:
a lot of  toast

a little jam and butter

a few tomatoes  ( there is only a tomato in the picture)

a piece of  cheese and ham

Some eggs and lettuce

The eggs look not so beautiful 
because I can't handle that huge pot very well

a cutting board, a knife, a butter knife, and a tablespoon.

Steps :

1. To assemble each sandwich, layer 1 slice toast, butter-side up, 1 lettuce leave and some eggs.
  1slice cheese, 

1 slice toast, butter-side down. Spread 1 teaspoon butter on toast. 
Continue assembling each sandwich  , 1 slice ham, 

1slices tomato
1 lettuce leaf and 1 slice toast, butter-side down.

 Cut into triangles.
 
Teaching process:
  First, I taught my kids the nouns while I was showing them the materials which we need to make a sandwich. 
    Next, I presented the the recipe first to make sure my kids can understand how to make it. 
    Then, have kids to make a sandwich by their own special recipe.
        (Special Jam sandwich- simple and easy. well you can imagine~~)

    After that, enjoy the sandwich and share it with other students.
    Finally, do the Task of Step up-6. 
       a. Write what you have in your sandwich?
       b. Find out what your friends have in their sandwiches.

       c. Whose sandwich do you like? What is in the sandwich? Tell the class.
