The 4-week CCELT offered by The?University of Auckland and its English language Academy is recognised as being among the leading teacher training programmes available in New Zealand. The CCELT is a professional development programme for non-native English speakers who wish to expand and update their teaching skills.? The course combines practical workshops, language teaching methodology, teacher observation, and language enhancement.
Who can enrol?
The course is aimed at non-native speakers who are at upper intermediate and advanced level.
The course focuses on two areas:
- Expanding and updating participants' knowledge of current teaching techniques
- Language development

Who teaches it?
The course is run and taught by a motivated team of teacher trainers from the ELA and University of Auckland , many of whom train on our Trinity College London TESOL programmes. All of the teacher trainers are highly qualified in teaching ESOL and possess postgraduate qualifications in TESOL or Applied Linguistics.
How many students on the course?
Courses are run for groups as small as 8, or as large as 20. Certificate
On completion of the four week course, participants will receive The University of Auckland ELA Certificate of Completion in Communicative English Language Teaching.
